On Monday October 31st, Overlook Medical Center hosted a kickoff ceremony for the Project SEARCH program. Speakers included Alice Hunnicut, NJ State Director of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Mary Pat Sullivan, Chief Nursing Officer at Overlook, Sergio Granados, Union County Freeholder and Vice Chairman, Terry Foppert, UCESC Superintendent, and Se'Quince Aiken, Project SEARCH intern.
Students accepted into the 2016-17 Project SEARCH-Overlook Medical Center program spent most of August learning to independently ride New Jersey Transit. The students received group and individualize training from the NJTIP team at Rutgers.
Applications are now closed for the 2016-17 school year program. We are pleased to announce that we have accepted 9 students from public schools across Union County to be a part of the first Project SEARCH cohort.
